This is where we tell you all about the legal terms and conditions that apply to the use of the Offers Media website, its related features, and our mobile app (together, the “Offers Media Services”). “Offers Media” means Offers Media, offered by Acorns.
It’s important that you read these terms carefully, because this document spells out our responsibilities as platform operators, and yours as a user. By attempting to register with us, navigating the site, or utilizing the Offers Media Services, you are accepting these terms and conditions in their entirety and are legally bound by them. If you do not wish to be bound by these terms, your sole remedy is to immediately cease use of our services.
We may make changes to these terms and conditions at any time with or without direct notice to you. If we do, we will post these changes on our website and they will be effective immediately. Please check regularly so that you are aware of any changes.
1. Eligibility, Identity Verification, and Account Setup
1.1 Age & Residency: To be eligible to use the Offers Media Services, you must be at least eighteen (18) years old and a lawful resident of the United States. We strictly enforce this policy through identity validation.
1.2 Verification Requirements: You warrant that all the information you provide us with for the purpose of registering with us and opening an account is true, complete and current. This includes your full legal name, Date of Birth, Social Security Number (SSN), and a valid 10-digit US phone number. Your SSN and Date of Birth are utilized to definitively confirm your age and identity.
1.3 Bank-Level Fraud Checks: Our registration process mandates a Bank-Level security triad. We actively verify that your physical State of Residence, the geographical state matching your Phone Area Code, and the geographical state of your Current IP Address all match perfectly. Any mismatches will result in your application being placed under strict manual review or immediate rejection.
1.4 Account Security: When you register with us, you must secure your account with a password and your verified US phone number for One-Time Passwords (OTPs). You are responsible for all actions taken under your credentials. It is your responsibility to keep your credentials safe and to ensure that they are not disclosed to anyone. Duplicate accounts are strictly prohibited.
2. Prohibited Use and The Legal Side
It is a federal and state crime to use a false name, fake SSN, or a bank account that is known to be invalid or unauthorized. If you are caught entering false, fictitious, or stolen information, you may be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Offers Media strictly tracks the “digital fingerprint” of every person who registers with us. This includes real-time IP tracking, device signature monitoring, and the use of third-party risk APIs. You must not:
- Use Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Proxies, or Tor browsers to spoof your location.
- Use automated systems, bots, or scripts to harvest data, bypass OTP checks, or generate multi-account registrations.
- Upload, message, or transmit any content that is unlawful, fraudulent, or infringes upon patents, trademarks, or copyrights.
Offers Media has the right to end our agreement with you and to suspend or terminate your access to the services immediately if we suspect you are engaged in fraudulent or illegal activity.
3. Technology, Automated Systems, and Artificial Intelligence
Offers Media and Acorns may use artificial intelligence and automated systems (the “AI Systems”) to enhance and/or affect the Services, including, by way of example and not limitation, fraud detection, spending insights, customer support, and providing financial education content.
We may make an AI-powered chatbot available to you. Our AI chatbot may allow you to provide input to the chat (“Input”), and receive output based on that Input (“Output”). Input and Output are collectively “Content.” You represent and warrant that you have all rights, licenses, and permissions needed to provide Input to our AI chatbot.
- Output may be inaccurate, and it is your responsibility to verify the accuracy of any information provided.
- You will not rely on the Output for financial, legal, or tax advice, and financial decisions remain in your discretion and are your responsibility.
- You will not use Output in a way that could have a legal or material impact on any individual, such as making credit or employment decisions.
DISCLAIMER: OUR AI CHATBOT PROVIDES CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EDUCATIONAL CONTENT. IT IS NOT INTENDED TO SIMULATE A SUSTAINED HUMAN OR HUMAN-LIKE RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU.
Our AI Chatbot has been designed to include guardrails to prevent the production of suicidal ideation, suicide, or self-harm content. Neither Offers Media nor any of its affiliated entities guarantee or make any warranties with respect to the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of Output.
4. E-Sign Consent & Electronic Delivery of Communications
Offers Media, its affiliates, and third-party service providers may need to provide you with certain communications, notices, agreements, billing statements, or disclosures in writing (“Communications”) regarding our services. Your agreement to this E-sign Consent confirms your ability and consent to receive Communications electronically rather than in paper form, and to the use of electronic signatures.
System Requirements: To access and retain electronic Communications, you will need a computer or mobile device with a current web browser that includes 128-bit encryption (such as the latest versions of Safari, Chrome, or Edge) with cookies enabled.
You may withdraw your consent to receive electronic Communications at any time by contacting us; however, withdrawal of your consent to receive electronic Communications will result in termination of your access to services and your account will be closed.
5. Copyright & Intellectual Property
All of the content of our website, including without limitation the Acorns logo, Offers Media logo, and textual assets, is owned by us and is protected by US and international copyright laws. Do not copy, download or use any of our material for either private or commercial use without explicit authorization.
6. Limitation of Liability & Indemnification
We do not guarantee your access to our site, or its content, will be delivered uninterrupted or error-free, or that the site will be free from viruses or other harmful properties. It is your responsibility to put in place satisfactory safeguards.
We take every measure to prevent internet fraud and to ensure that any data collected from you is kept safe and secure. However, in the unlikely event of a breach in our secure computer servers, we cannot be held liable. Under no circumstances will we be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or other kind of loss or injury resulting from your use, or downloading of any content on our site.

APY is variable and subject to change at our discretion, without prior notice. No minimum opening deposit or minimum balance required. Acorns is not a bank. Mighty Oak and Emergency Savings banking services provided by, and Mighty Oak Debit Cards issued and provided by nbkc bank, Member FDIC, to Acorns Checking account holders that are U.S. residents over the age of eighteen (18).
